  1. No posts for days! Can she be up the glen or on the moor? Is it majestic landscapes or post industrial decay? We await with interest your the prolific wanderings.

  2. Hi Dominique

I feel I’m playing catchup with your recent postings – keep going ,don’t wait for me !

Your “Pier Ladder” made me ponder for a bit to the following effect :

A pier wall from so many harbours.

Your knife lays an ochre which is shortly muted by white The ladder emerges from the layers and points the way to a leaden sky.

A grey of departure Or a grey on arrival

    Weather either way

At a pier wall from so many harbours.

I so enjoyed reading “Ranoch – this impossible Place”. Such a mix of colour , sound and texture capturing the moorland and the bog. Amidst it all a feeling of balance in the day………….an equilibrium in nature. Wonderful writing Dominique.

    Best regards Ian

    1. Hi Ian,
can I just say what a lovely response to my ‘Pier ladder’ painting, it made me think about it too, again and with fresh eyes. I seem to be drawn to spaces that are not wholly one state or another, but offer possibilites of either or neither or both, depending on decisions made. Their very vulnerability is an ache if you like, optimistic and fearful at the same time. A bit like the landscape at Rannoch, and as you say though, a balance is sought.
Your thoughts have made me pause to think some more. Thanks, Dominique
