Biography

Education –

1989-92 – Napier University, Edinburgh – B.A Photography (Distinction). Agfa bursary and Final year award winner ( Hamilton- Tait Award ).

2013- 14 – Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee – MFA Art, Society and Publics. Award for outstanding academic achievement.

As an artist I am interested in mapping. My practice has evolved to include drawing, painting, text, performance and film. I am currently exploring how walking and the experience of landscape is brought together as a form of map to travel through, as a narrative form. The embarkation point is always the single, static viewpoint and concludes with a journey of the walk or experience of a particular place. This storytelling echoes how I navigate my way through the landscape.

I work with Fidra Fine art, Tatha Gallery, Whitehouse Gallery and Wall Projects in Scotland.

I was selected for this years VAS Reverb exhibition 2022.

  1. Hi Dominique. We spoke briefly at Pittenweem. You may recall I was very taken with the Scots Pines image you had on the floor. Sadly I couldn’t afford it, but if you should happen to do any other studies of the same – maybe a bit smaller and cheaper (sorry) – then I’d be really interested. They’re special trees.

  2. Hi,

I’ve just joined Twitter for the sole purpose of messaging you re your work for sale on ā€œArtistsupportpledge,ā€ only to find that you cannot in fact be DM’ed there. 😩
Could you please let me know how to get in touch about purchasing that work, if it is still available and if there are others in the same series/format.

    Thank you

  3. Dominique, it was a delight to meet you guys yesterday, you made it into my mother’s garden blog. Loving your paintings and drawings. I rode my bicycle across Rannoch Moor and back today. I imagined you working in the wilds.

    Best wishes, Peter
